How timing correction works

Tide books show stream information against standard high-water and low-water stages. The stream pattern remains useful, but the clock time of each stage shifts as the real tidal cycle shortens or lengthens. Tidal Deltas moves those standard stages to their corrected times for the selected date.

  • • Uses dated high- and low-water events.
  • • Compares standard and corrected tide-stage timing.
  • • Returns a signed correction in minutes.
  • • Shows one selected date at a time.
  • • Automatically assigns the time of day to the corresponding tide-cycle page.
  • • Does not yet change stream rate or direction.
